UniPure Process Technology
UniPure's patented iron co-precipitation process is the most efficient method of activating iron to indiscriminately remove all heavy metals from water or wastewater.
UniPure Process Technology originally developed by the Science & Technology Division of Unocal, provides industrial clients and remediation professionals with a simple treatment process that meet stringent discharge criteria for heavy metals. The UniPure Process incorporates the following objectives:
- Provides a simple, flexible, highly effective metals removal mechanism
- Overcomes the thermodynamic limitations of conventional hydroxide precipitation processes
- Can be used in applications that require part per billion effluent concentrations with multiple metal contaminants
- Can be used in industrial applications with highly variable metals loading rates
- Minimizes overall Operation & Maintenance costs
- Produces stable, dense, easily dewatered solids
- Can easily retrofit into existing systems to maximize their utility
The UniPure Process can be applied as the primary treatment protocol or as a polish protocol for existing metal hydroxide treatment systems.
Since the UniPure Process utilizes conventional unit operations as system building blocks such as reactors, lamella clarifiers and filters making the system extremely user friendly and forgiving.
The UniPure process is offered as a batch treatment system or as a continuous flow system with installations up to 3000 gpm. UniPure also offers packaged system, integrated skidded systems or transportable systems.
